What's the story behind 'This is Mabel'??

This is Mabel was founded by Laura Harrison initially  in November 2018.

After a troublesome pregnancy in 2015 and very difficult first year with Mabel, Laura suffered physically and mentally over the next three years her symptoms being investigated as physical problem rather than mental health, missing several key indicators. of post natal anxiety. This cumulated in a massive mental health struggle resulting in a physical and mental breakdown. 

Finally a  wonderful doctor recognised that her physical symptoms weren't simply down to frequent chest infections and an undiagnosed medical condition but actually mental health. She was referred me to therapy and put on medication which she remained on fo the next 4 years. 

Once Laura started telling others of her experience she also learnt that actually alot of new mums and others are struggling with boundaries, identity and mental health. and wanted to share it was ok to just be, to have good days and bad days, not to compare our self to others external appearance .

Mabel was becoming (and still is) a little lady full of character, spirit and a strong sense of self. Mabel challenged was being a girl was, forcing Laura to take a good look at what makes up a woman... and how we need to keep hold of and embrace the ferocity that young girls have. Wanting something good to come from years of struggle the brand 'This is Mabel' was born.

Combining this experience with a love of fashion, a family business in printing and a desire to be creative and spread the word...  This is Mabel. was born!
